HOW WOULD YOU BEST DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE?
My style is crispy and clean with an emphasis on your connection with each other and the landscape around you. A heap of time and love goes into the editing process. I create timeless images that feel natural and won’t look dated in 5 years time when the “filtered fad” of the day has run its course.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET THE PHOTOS?
Photos are delivered in about 3-4 weeks. I spend time curating and colour correcting each photo so that the story and vibe fit together. The final photographs will be uploaded to an online gallery in high-resolution from there where you can download and share them as you like. The photos will be available online for 1 year. Don’t worry, you’ll also have a few sneak peek images to share a couple of days after the wedding too!
CAN YOU RECOMMEND THE BEST LOCAL VENDORS TO ME?
Of course! I know all the best vendors to work with in Queenstown and Wanaka. I only recommend those that I trust and that fit the vibes of you and your wedding.
WHAT IS YOUR INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY?
I try to embrace the weather, fog and clouds create a beautiful atmosphere and diffuse light, perfect for epic photos. Only if the weather is super awful so much that it ruins our experience or is dangerous, we’ll come up with a plan B.
WHAT IF WE NEED TO CANCEL OR POSTPONE?
Typically you can reschedule up to 6 months subject to my availability. If you’re worried about the Corona virus, I’m currently letting couples reschedule up to 12 months. I know how difficult things are at the moment so I’m being as flexible as possible to support you.
DO I NEED TO GIVE YOU A PHOTOGRAPHY SHOT LIST?
A photo list isn’t needed, I’ll already be capturing the details of the day that includes bridal, groom, florals, decor, venue, etc. I will ask for family and group photo lists so that we can breeze through them. Please make everyone aware that they are needed for photos. It can be very tough to get everyone together once they’ve spotted appetisers and an open bar! Utilising someone who knows both sides of the family well to get groups together during this part of the day works really well. If you have any unique ceremonies, special guests or something you really want a photo of just let me know!
DO I NEED TO SIGN A CONTRACT?
Yes, this way I am confirming that I am officially reserving your date for you and only you. This way you are confirming to me that I am your photographer and we can start taking the next steps together. A 35% deposit is required at the time of signature to hold the date and the remainder is due 3 weeks prior to the wedding.
CAN YOU HELP US WITH OUR DAY-OF TIMELINE?
I love helping couples with their timeline. We can figure out what your priorities are. I don’t want to spend 2 hours taking portraits if you’d rather be with your guests and likewise, if portraits are your priority I want to make sure we have ample time for them while still being present with your friends and family. I’ve shot a ton of weddings over the years so I’m a pro at helping you put these together!
DO YOU OFFER ALBUMS AND PRINTS?
I’m a big believer in high-quality printing and displaying your images. I don’t currently offer them in my packages so you’re not paying for something you may not want. If you are interested however, I’ll put you in touch with some absolute pros who offer the best design and printing services for photos, books and albums.
WE FEEL SUPER UNCOMFORTABLE IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA, CAN YOU HELP US?
Being in front of the camera can feel a little awkward! Trust me, I feel the same way which is why I like to make the experience super relaxed and fun. My job is to make you feel comfortable and I’ll do everything in my power to make sure you’re enjoying yourself. I’ll have your attention on each other and your surroundings 99% of the time anyway so as long as you’re happy checking each other out you’ll be fine!
WHATS THE DIFFERENCES IN YOUR PACKAGES?
The main difference is time and coverage. Please note that all of the packages are flexible. I know every wedding day is unique and I’m happy to put something together that suits your day perfectly. Just get in touch and we’ll make it work!
WHAT IF WE DON’T KNOW WHAT PACKAGE WE WANT YET?
That’s totally okay. Since I normally book six months to a year out I understand that you are still in the process of figuring out what your day will look like. This also means that your coverage needs might change. You can easily change the amount of hours needed right up until the day of your wedding. I only ever book a maximum of one shoot per day to remain as flexible as possible.
WHY SHOULD WE HIRE YOU?
Choosing your photographer is not something to take lightly. They will be the person with you for the majority of the day and are responsible for recording your memories on one of the most important days of your life. Because of this, I take my job extremely seriously. I am professional, prompt, responsive, and extremely organised. I will bring a calm yet positive energy to your day and guide you through it all at the same time. While style and approach is a very personal choice, I can guarantee you that I will pour my heart into your photos and experience.
CAN I HAVE THE RAW IMAGES?
Simply put, Nah! Editing is an important part of my work and a raw image is an unfinished draft. When I edit I start with my custom preset that I have developed over time. I really try to show colours and tones that are realistic but also have a bit of “pop” My preset is a starting point and is not meant to be universally applied. Each wedding, lighting situation, location and scene looks and feels different and my edits capture those feelings. For example, when it’s cloudy outside the lighting is very even and diffuse and the tones tend to be more neutral as opposed to full sun when the light is direct and more harsh.
