Byron & Michelle first met in New Zealand at University. While Byron was undergoing pilot training Michelle moved to Germany for a year. During this time they took a few holidays around Europe together and on a trip to the South of France Byron proposed one evening in Cannes while strolling along the waterfront. The first people they told were a lovely old couple they met at a vineyard. They were even more excited by the news than Byron & Michelle and have been in contact with each other ever since.

Byron & Michelle chose The Orchard Gardens in Clyde as their wedding venue. They have family in Central Otago and have both been holidaying in nearby Wanaka for years. Because of this, they feel a real connection to the area. Originally they had planned a very large wedding but decided to cut the list down and create a more intimate experience. This Orchard Garden wedding proved to be the perfect choice. It also meant they were able to take a 6 week honeymoon in Italy with the money they saved!!!
