Annie & Warren first met on a boat on the Great Barrier Reef while swimming with Minke whales. They stayed in touch and romance blossomed a few months later. They ended up going on the boat again a year later and Warren proposed while they were diving one day 30m under water. He had someone filming it underwater, an engraved shell hidden on the reef and champagne waiting up on the boat once they surfaced again. That night they even had a beautiful sunset and spinner dolphins at the bow of the ship. Now that’s a next level proposal!
Annie & Warren chose Wanaka to get married in as it represented all the things they love….mountains, lakes, the great outdoors and a quaint little town. It was also a great excuse to have a destination wedding so all of their guests could see just how beautiful it is down here. Rippon was an obvious choice for them with its elevated views of the lake & mountains in the background. They had always wanted the ceremony to be outside, however the weather was a bit cold and windy on the day so they made the call to move inside. This was very fortuitous as the mood of the cosy hall with the fires lit and the view at the end window created a far more intimate and loving atmosphere that encapsulated the feel they desired for their ceremony.
